After graduating from the Interlochen Arts Academy in oboe performance, I went on to study music for a few years at the Crane School of Music in NY before switching over to a Computer Science degree. Now I am a fulltime software engineer, but I still love to play and teach the oboe in Mapleton, Utah!
I graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 2006 as a music performance major in the oboe studio. While there, I performed in bands, orchestras, and ballets and had the opportunity to attend many masterclasses with world-renowned oboists.
My time at the Crane School of Music provided me with a lot of education in music theory and music history as well as ample opportunities for performing in bands and smaller wind ensembles.
I had the opportunity to perform with the London Symphony Orchestra for a couple of weeks during a music festival in Florida. I also received coaching from their woodwind section while preparing woodwind quintet performances.
I have been making custom oboe reeds for over 14 years. While I do not sell them at this time, that may be an option in the future.
